Having decided to pursue a career as a touring professional my ambition is to play on both the European & PGA tours, known as achieving my tour card.
To achieve this objective, the first step along the path was to successfully achieve full playing Euro-pro tour card privileges [www.europrotour.com] in October 2020. The Euro-pro tour provides the opportunity to play in 54 hole tournaments with 36 hole cuts, thus providing tournament experience whilst playing for average purses of £50,000.
So what does the playing on the Euro-pro tour provide?
The order of merit [money list] provides all players the opportunity to compete for a top 60 place – achieve that and you gain entry into the end of season playoff event in Spain. Come the end of the season, the top 5 players on the order or merit gain a full playing tour card for the European Challenge tour, this is the feeder tournament into the European tour.
As well as playing Euro-pro golf, I am also participating on the Tartan Tour, a Scottish based professional golf tour sponsored and promoted by 1999 Open champion Paul Lawrie. These events are 18 or 36 hole tournaments, however, the tour is growing under the stewardship of Paul. [https://tartanprotour.co.uk]
